Roland Butch Tirelli

From Brooklyn, New York, Tirelli learned to ride horses at an early age, and then embarked on his journey into the world of performing with the Wild West Show. Tirelli, with his trained comedy mules, took up with Christiani Brothers Circus and performed throughout the United States. After a couple of years, he returned to perform with the Wild West Shows as a bronc rider, bull rider, trick rider, clown, and bull fighter. When he wasn't performing or producing a Wild West Show, he competed in professional rodeo. He won first and second in bareback, saddle bronc, and bull riding events at many championship rodeos. He traveled the Americas from the Cowtown rodeo in New Jersey, south to Florida, north to Canada, and west to California. During the Grand Nationals at the Cow Palace in San Francisco, Tirelli also won a good share of the prize money in the bull riding event. The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association acknowledged his exemplary career performances by awarding him a Gold Card as a Life Member in 1991. Tirelli then went back to the Wild West Shows, this time as the producer. His show played throughout Latin America, from Mexico to Caracas, Venezuela.

In the late 80s, travel weary Tirelli settled in Thousand Oaks, California. He worked in the motion picture business as a stunt man, and simultaneously took up the sport of Polo. Somehow he always found himself helping other players or stunt riders with their horses. He soon realized that if these top riders had problems with their horses, then many other horse people and horses might need help as well. Over the years, Tirelli has enjoyed helping many hundreds of horses and their owners experience the confidence of true horsemanship.

Roland Butch Tirelli is not only known as a top performer, trainer, and rider, but also as a friend and visionary to horses and their owners. This All-American cowboy has extensive experience with not only western horses, but with every type of horse and discipline. His style, philosophy, and hands-on approach introduce and fulfill an understanding of the true nature of the Horse-Human Relationship. His approach helps the horse and rider to bond in a oneness of body, mind, and spirit inherent to true horsemanship. Though he will demonstrate his techniques at clinics or private sessions, he will always emphasize his primary goal, to show the horse owners that they can do it, too.
